The first thing you should do is clear a large space for dancing. While you’re probably used to doing this if you dance in the house, it can be easy to overlook if you’re accustomed to the naturally large space of a dance studio. Scoot sofas back if you’re dancing in the living room and make sure to cover sharp edges, especially if you’re going to be dancing with kids. Wear comfortable shoes that allow you to move; tennis shoes probably work best for Wii dancing. Pick up any rugs off the floor. They can easily cause tripping and slipping. 

 

The next thing that you must do before dancing to a Wii game is to tighten the strap to the Wii remote around the wrist of your dominant hand. Some dance moves require sudden or jerky movements, and it can unintentionally send the Wii remote flying, which can damage furniture or even hurt someone. So be careful and always fasten the remote to your wrist. 

 

Always follow any safety instructions on your particular Wii game, as each dance game has it own guidelines and special considerations. And bring your own natural flair for dancing and whatever level of training you have, and express yourself through your moves. Dancing for the Wii is not all that different from the showing off your moves on the dance floor.
